  1. What happens when you just double click on CrysisDedicatedServer.exe ?
  2. Install C++ Redistributable on the server running Crysis? Make sure you use the one the Crysis CD.
  3. Hmmm, I still can't get the DX10 servers working. I tried both methods, and neither seem to work. Bummer.
  4. Does anyone know how to get DX10 working on a server?
  5. Don't write off Crysis so quickly. This game has a crazed community of fans, and there are already tons of mods/maps in development which will keep it going for quite some time, along with the promise of Crysis 2 & 3. I still expect Crysis to be an incredibly popular game - it certainly has the reviews to support that (only negative points are to do with system requirements, and the lame ending...but it is a trilogy, so it's not really the end).
  6. Um, source? I've been following Crysis for a couple of years now, and I am positive EA does not own Crytek. EA is just the publisher. The only thing I could find was this: http://au.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/news.html?sid=6156629&cpage=8 ...but that was updated with the quote "EA is not in negotiation for the acquisition of Crytek."
  7. What are you talking about? EA is only publishing the game. Crytek is it's own company still.
  8. Thanks for that, now I just have to get the actual CrysisDedicatedServer.exe file running! Oops, nevermind. Forgot to install C++ Redistributable.
  9. I always get the error "The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect"
  10. Ditto. Wish EA/Crytek would give some sort of clarification or something!
  11. I guess the best bet is to wait till the 16th - the official release of Crysis. I expect all server-related stuff to be out around then, as they're also releasing the SDK within a couple of days of that.
  12. Got Crysis now, and apparently you have to upload the entire game for servers. Kind of a bummer, but at least the game is not out in America yet - plenty of time to get the files up and ready. Btw, I think Crysis just has a steeper learning curve than other games. Once you start using all the suit modes effectively, forming explosive traps, and working with people as a team, it becomes incredible fun. I was playing with 6 people in a Beta using Vent, and we filled two Hummers and were driving around the map capturing and defending bases. It's like a much better version of Battlefield 2 basically, well, at least in my opinion.
  13. Hmmm, people are saying that all the dedicated server files etc are coming out on the release date. I guess I misinterpretated that for coming with the game. The game is officialy released on the 16th in the US, so maybe thats the date to look out for.
  14. What's confusing though is that Crytek said like one million times it would not have persistent statistics. I wish they would just clarify it.
  15. I'm still pre-loading Crysis, but some people have already got the game in various locations, so I thought it wise to make a thread for Crysis configs!
