ArmaHosts
I just purchased a new server and versus having a single drive to house all the data on for the servers (C Drive), I now have 2 smaller drives. Once TCAdmin users fill up the C Drive (C:\TCAdmin\Users\...) will the system be able to start placing users files on the second drive? And what happens if a user on the first drive wants to add files to his server but can't because there is no space within his structure. I have done some research and tried spanning the volumes or creating both dynamic disks and extending the C to the other but hit road blocks within those processes (options being greyed out). Has anyone else been able to handle this efficiently?
Dennis
We have 3 or 4 SSD's on each of our servers. We span the disks to create 2 drives - on for the system itself, and one for the TCAdmin game files. Works perfectly fine
ArmaHosts
I understand, but the server I am renting came with 2x480GB SSD's and I would like to span them, but having problems...
TXGS
Looking to do a software raid 0 then combining the 2 drives into 1 large drive then? If so you will most likely want to go with a BIOS raid for that, there is a Windows option as well in the Disk Management area but it is finicky and I would not recommend it. Of course best option would be hardware raid but that is a bit more costly etc.
jeromehaynes
Hardware raid would be more costly, but in all fairness RAID 0 isn't redundant, so it would be a waste of money, depends on how you look at it and it's use.
TXGS
Yep, however client is looking to combine the two so I would assume they are aware of these risks
ArmaHosts
Yes, fully aware of the risks, but I bought the server with the intent of using most of the available hard drive space. Going to try a couple things first.
