File Servers

Just a quick question about file servers.

 

If I setup a file server, is this where I place all the game files? Or do I still have to place them in the default C:\GameInstalls? And with mods/maps etc, will they all be pulled from this file server?

If you setup a fileserver, and change the machine in question over to use that fileserver then it would infact pull from that new fileserver and still place the gamefiles into whatever you had configured for the GameFiles path in the server configuration area and install to the UserFiles defined path.

 

So to answer your question, yes it would need to be in both places. However if it wasn't in the GameFiles path, it would download it and put it there

You can have them only be on the file server. If you have "save local copy" checked then each server will also maintain a copy. If you don't have it checked then they will always be pulled from the file server.

Yes maps/mods can also be pulled from the file server.
