tcngs
Do you limit the bandwidth on your game servers?
Todd Holley
No, we do not limit bandwidth on any of our machines. We do have a bandwidth cap on our redirection machines though.
Spartanfrog
If you do limit your bandwidth you kinda need to let your customers know to.
NRTServers
We don't limit our bandwidth either, I don't really know why you would want to? I guess maybe one might consider it if they oversold and were getting close to what they negotiated with the NOC, but if that was the case, I would think it might be wiser to try to compensate for the issue rather than hinder it., till more equipment was inline and more bandwith retained. Todd Holley
If either replies were directed at me, note the cap is not reached very often. But it allows me to still be able to manage the machine at peak times.
adamnp
....We have 2 public server thats push 5mbit constant 24/7 each...And another 3 that push 12mbit constant between them.........Sometimes it kicks you in the ass....Some people actually know how to fill there gameservers, and make use of it.... I rented these servers for a long time just because of that reason...
Todd Holley
Our redirect stays around 1-3mbit under normal conditions. Under peak I get around 15-25. And above that at times. Cap is at 30. I don't run that much bw on my game server machines.... my usage is close to 3-8mbit
