Here is a situation where you give some someone a total of $2616.92 and get nothing back in return. My claim on PayPal for one of the payments was returned in my favor only for PayPal to tell me that $0.00 of my funds were recoverable.

 

This is a tremendous amount of money. This guy lives in Europe so I don't really have the means to go after him nor the money for lawyers. If anyone could be so kind as to help me out in whatever way you can it would be so appreciated.

This is the last part of this one conversation. Seems he can't now that his PayPal account is gone. There are a lot more ridiculous conversations of why I can't see proof. Please help.

Actually you don't need a lawyer. You can forward all your records and information to the FBI, and even if he is in England, see, we(the USA) have this nice little deal worked out with England, that he can be prosecuted. Also, there is an open Class action lawsuit against paypal for situations just like yours. You might do a little bit of internet research and find out which law firm is heading it up. You, with a little work, just might get back some or most of your money. Good luck

People, FBI wont do crap... This situation happened in Europe and who knows what the hell is over there. Instead you need to google "InterPol" - International / Internet Police.

 

They will take care of everything.

Although UK based, I have to say I am not 100% on the legal in's and outs (we pay lawers for that stuff)..... but.......

 

I'm pretty sure that you will be able to take the issue up with the UK's legal system. I do know for sure that you are able to submit a claim to the UK's small claims court, as the person you are claiming against is obviously a UK resident/business.

To begin with though, it may be worth contacting the local police department in the area where either he resides, or his business is registered, you should be able to find them here http://www.police.uk/forces.htm. We have a CID department (Criminal Investigations Dept., not too dissimilar to the FBI), the police department will no doubt pass the case to the relevant CID department to look into.

 

As mentioned, as the crime (as it were) was committed on UK soil, then the UK police force are bound by duty to investigate

 

I hope that some of that is useful for you, I wish I could do more, but as said I'm crap at legal stuff and find it easier to pay someone to worry about it for me.

Netrino have been around for a long time in the UK, but I think they do end up hosting a lot of kiddie companies as they are fairly cheap.

 

I realise good deals tempt us all, but I would be careful who you select to represent your business abroad, whilst there is nothing wrong with Blue Square itself, you dont find kiddie hosts in the London core datacentres (Telehouse/Telecity/Etc) as you have to pay proper prices. Try to stick to companies that are in London, sure it will cost a bit more, but it's worth it in the long run.

 

We recently were looking at American datacentres, but when you dont come from the area / country, it's very difficult to know what you are dealing with and I fully sympathise with your situation.

Jesse I recommend filing with Interpol & the FBI, because they both can get involved. Compile all evidence you have, including statements, contact them asap. Make sure your ducks are in a row, contact his number and make sure it isn't a VOip if it is request user information for legal action in theft of a grand amount (over 2k).

This guy used fake aliases in his PayPal and used proxies when he talked to me... I know he has also moved since the incident.

 

Its a lesson I would have rather learned then over a couple grand then run into someone like that later over more money. There were two coincidences I ran into (looking back) that would now immediately tip me off.
