It will run on web edition, however you might check the licensing of web edition

MS audits data centers all the time. This is why when you had your volume licensing setup with MS they wanted you to list which data centers you will be allowing to do your software installs. Look at the documentation you signed, it's all there in black and white.

Really what are you going to do about it? Hell their Vista version will delete any programs IT feels are not registered properly to you, without even telling you its deleting it.
