I have a pc that i built that has been acting up lately a good bit any ways its freezing up randomly when going to play games or run photoshop and dreamweaver an say a few other thing at the same time. I have ruled out the RAM an changed it out with some new sticks. hers is a list of what i have........ CPU: (Socket AM2) AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology 16X DVD+/-R/+/-RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER AMD ATHLON64 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK (Socket AM2)GigaByte GA-M55SLI-S4 nForce4 SLI Chipset DDR2/800 SATA 16x PCI-Express MBoard w/GbLAN,IEEE1394,USB2.0,&7.1Audio ONBOARD 10/100 NETWORK CARD Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition w/ Service Pack 2 & Upgrade for Windows Vista Home Basic STANDARD CASE POWER SUPPLY Creative Labs SB Audigy SE NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS 512MB 16X PCI Express Video Card Hard Drive (250GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 8MB Cache 7200RPM HDD) X2 1x 120mm case fan. any help would be thankful Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jissh Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 could be the memory controller on the mobo. or even your psu will cause this. Going by your "STANDARD CASE POWER SUPPLY" I would try replacing the psu first with a higher quality one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
