cobra
I was wondering what could you use for a billing system that's free and safe to use for starter GSP'S because in my opinion it don't make much since that a starter should pay for Modernbill or ClientExec etc etc if they don't have any clients for the first 3 or 4 months. I though i seen a post in here some where that had a question like this but couldn't find it anywhere. I know you could use Paypal but there's no way to set it up to select how many slots an have selections for game switching etc..etc..
{-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
My advice is if you can't afford to take the small hit in the beginning you need to rethink your business plan. When you start a new company you need liquidity to make the start easier. It's better to get the billing system now than wait and change over later. studeggle
The only way would be to hand code, there is nothing that can handle game servers that is free. And I second the better to start right notion, changing billing systems is a real pain, that only gets worse the longer you wait, for both you and your customers. DougK94
If money is tight starting out, I would recommend getting a monthly lease for WHMCS ($15.95) or Clientexec ($15.95).
cobra
Its not a money issue at all that nothing i have the funds for back up its just that things in this country are changing as we all know i was just looking at some alternative ways to go about things what do they call it oh yea bush's economic plan (play) not that im for him at all or any of them just saying. An i was looking at the point of a new GSP and not having any client's at the start an i know its all like that. i guess you would have to understand where im coming from. studeggle
Hedging bets can be good, but there are some bets that shouldn't be hedged. And I think most here would agree that the billing system is one of those. Either you commit to online business or you don't. And there in lies the key, the billing software is versatile and not restricted to just GSP use. So if you decide being a GSP just isn't for you, or the economy just won't support it, then simply move the software over to a new online endeavor. cobra
Well see my thing is that i love doing this but i still cant make up my mind at the moment i want to do GSP but just cant seem to get the help to do it. Meaning im doing it all on my own with out any other person helping me out i think that is what was my problem last time i ran a GSP. I had alot of customers i used modenbill v4 i had it under control but as i said before i had some family issues with my mother passing an having to take in my little brother plus i have a 2 year old on top of that. Soo there for i had no one to run the site for a month or two which lead to closing an now i want back in.

KingJ
I'd really advise going for a billing system. Before moving to TCAdmin, I handled all billing myself and it became a nightmare. Having WHMCS handle it instead is a great help, and for $15.95 it does save me a lot of time. The WHMCS dev (Matt) is always very helpful and answers support questions fast. It's also somewhat difficult to intergrate users from TCAdmin back into WHMCS - the best way is to have WHMCS creating the TCAdmin users/servers which requires WHMCS from day 1. I highly recommend it.
