powerpc
Hi, Is it normal to have 1-3 in choke at roundstart 100 tick server? Thanks
Monk
Small amounts of choke are caused by flow control, or interrupt moderation serverside. There is also an issue with DMA'ing a page that doesnt fit into the nic card's buffer ring, generating a fault for that frame. i only see that on shitty intel nic cards (which is most of them!) powerpc
It is Intel® PRO/1000 EB Network Connection with I/O Acceleration What do you recommend? I have in network settings, performance options: Flow control set to: generate & respond and interrupt moderation rate: Adaptive. New drivers, new NC? Sorry my bad English. Thanks so much for the help.
Monk
turn off flow control and interrupt moderation. both cause latency into the hundreds of uS or so.
Derek
How much performance increase do you get by disabling flow control and interrupt moderation ? Also how about recieve and transmit descriptors, what value do you set that at ? ps. thanks for the info.
powerpc
Update. I did turn off flow control and interrupt moderation and i did not see any different. I installed a new NIC driver, no help. Hmm, What to do next hehe.
