gemcneill
I have seen a couple of these out there but this one takes the cake. Basically what they do is open up CSS and open the console. They then set this var rcon_address ip:port_of_server_to_crash Then they execute a config on their client (i.e. crash.cfg) then press the up key and do it until the server crashes. In the config file is probably something like rcon sv_alltalk 1; rcon sv_alltalk 1 and so on for a few pages. As I understand it they do not get banned for this. I have only seen it a couple of times but I have tested it and it is very weird. The server does not go down, it just loses communication with the outside world. I have the service set to interact with desktop and it shows still to be running. However I cant connect to it nor does it show to be running according to tcadmin. I was wondering if there is a way to set the rcon port on the server to be something else other that the same port as the server, but I am pretty sure that we will just have to wait for valve to fix this one. Just though I would share George
