Interested in a dedicated server

Recommended Posts

Hey i am thinking about renting a dedicated server. i think i would only like to put maybe 1 or 2 css servers on it running at 100 tick 1000 fps and also a cod5 server and possibly another game server. so i was wondering if there is anyone on here that has any special deals or discounts that they can give out?

I would like a west location, perfably LA, or san jose or somewhere in CA. Or maybe a denver location. I could make a exception with a dallas server if i can get a good deal on it. I was hoping it could be $100.00 or less per month if that would be possible.

You will never be able to find a server for $100.00 if you want to run 2-4 game servers. At best you will need to use freebsd/linux and then get a kernel that will run 1000FPS. You will need at least a dual core with 2GB of ram.

I don't think you can get 1000 FPS on a Windows 2003 operating system.

Windows 2008 1000's are constantly getting ragged on for there low performance in nearly all public forums. Thats why the leaders are NFO/Summit/HDG ect.

If you want to do good 1000's you should learn how to properly use Linux and launch them on that.

Changing the kernel on Windows ? :)

Only way is using 2008 and HPET motherboards.

By the way, it is possible to show a xxxFPS server ... our CSS expert lost is time to check something out and here what he made.

He told me how he did it but i was not realy listening but doing a 1 000 000 000 000FPS is possible on any windows server but in reality its not more than 512FPS for Win2003 and 1000FPS on Win2008 that as the HPET & ect.

P.S.: The SS are from a Windows Server running on Win2008 with HPET ... not Linux.

check out some of the post about 1000 FPS
