peace
Hello. I believe that all of you have some difficulties about different mod installs. F.e. MetaMod plugins. As you may know new mod line on mm should be set in metaplugins.ini (not using .vdf) to work proper. If you set mm plugin in Game Updates wich contains metaplugins.ini it will re-write same file (if mm mods already exist) and mod(s) that was installed before new plugin wont work anymore. Certainly you may set all lines of all mm mods in metaplugins.ini and copy that file to all Game Updates but it isnt so comfortable. It would be very nice if "adding lines" feature will be in new updates or maybe in v2. I think that will be usefull in many cases. What do you all think about this? Heres another exaple. GunGame plugin that works on ES script on Source games. You have to add line "es_lod gungame5" into server.cfg to activatn this mod. Whent you want to switch off this plugin again you have to comment or delete this line. It would be so great with "adding lines" feature to set GunGame in Game Mods and it will be atomatically add/delete line from server.cfg and change comand line and so on. Thank you. peace
My friend's homework at university is about creating programm to check content of text files. He made it perfectly . I think "adding line" feature could be made too.
studeggle
I disagree, computers can only do exacty as told. There ara far to many issues created by just blindly adding or subtracting lines. For mods that only require minor adjustments too an allready existing file, it is better to provide clear instructions and a note that if they are unsure how to proceede to put in a support ticket. Over automation makes a mess that results in hrs of troubleshooting, instead of 30 seconds customer support. Not to mention the panel doing it has little to none client win factor, where as personal support doing it quickly and kindly makes them feel your knowledgable and have quality customer service IE lots of client win factor. peace
Personal support is no doubt great but first class service isnt only about personal contact it also should include non personal support features. As you know Game Updates and Mods are customized by admins. Problem could be in mind, not in program if settings are perfect. I dont see any troubles of add/delete line f.e. in metaplugins.ini or es_load command in Game Mod. F.e. Client has some plugin on mm instaled. You provide 3 plugins in mm in Game Updates. He installs one more from Updates ant previous wont work anymore. Here comes support team? The main rule in my company is to customize all servers by support hands for free but than by clients via panel if they want so. Well that would be nice feature to help me and many more companies to do that.
