DarkStar has a good reseller program. Our customers love the control panel they get.

Agreed , Brett is amazing they also use to have a minuim of 300 slots but now they have starter packages which allows 100 which is perfect for you.

Good Luck!

They also have 10 less locations compared to DarkStar. I have never seen there control panel for reseller so I can't comment on that but it is really hard to beat DarkStar's panel as it's pretty amazing.

Most reseller control panels give you pretty much the same functions so I wouldn't put that as your #1 purchasing point.

I would be more concerned with things like uptime when choosing a reseller, It's never a good thing to work for your clients only to see them run off because your provider cannot stay online..

Hope this helps!

True it is a good point Rich and I do agree with you but with them able to offer a better control panel , more locations , better pricing and more features and support is a big chunk.

There is downsides to being the biggest ventrilo as well as upsides (for a reseller). We know DarkStar had BIG downtime few months ago and we lost a good porition of our ventrilo clients (30%) as it's easy for people to just pick up a new ventrilo host as it's cheap and easy to rebuild channels.

I believe it's important to see the pros and cons when choosing a company to do business with. Things like uptime personally would be something to check very closely but as you mentioned support and overall satisfaction are also important. However, I have to correct you on them being the largest resellers though which they aren't but they seem to be held in high regard and either way is more important.

I'm not saying they are the largest reseller rather then the largest ventrilo provider and I can guarantee you on that and noone even comes close to them.

Anyone have experience with http://hurricanehost.com

50 slot is ideal for start in ventrilo, and for only 12.5$

fair price if you ask me, but how reliable are they?

Support seems to be ok, I recived reply in 10mins for every mail.

But there is one drawback, they do not offer to host control panel on my web server, so I have to use domain they provide me.

TypeFrag do not have resell, darkstar seems to be very nice, and they have german location which I am actually looking for.

They are little bit more expensive but few bucks difference.

Currently I am looking on hurricanehost because they offer low slot and low price...i hope quality is not low too :D

Now I will use hurricane host,

if servers in amsterdam shows good then there wont be need to move on darkstar and german servers.

Also they anounce that their control panel will be hostable on custom domains, so there really wont be any reason not to choose them.

@attack

is their control panel ok?

DarkStar's pricing is right on board with Hurricane Host for introductory packages. The price drops considerably after intro packages, making it quite a bit cheaper. DarkStar offers a lot more locations for your customers as well.

As far as control panel concerns -- DarkStar's control panel is installable on any custom domain -- and accounts are setup instantly after payment.

We use Darkstar for our Ventrilo reselling needs and while they're a little pricey, I can't flaw them elsewhere. They've always been friendly and helpful in support tickets and i've never had a report of downtime while i've been with them.

Darkstar is great - the reseller panel plus the client panel that your clients get is great. I've seen UGT as well and their panel is just as nice, and they are a little cheaper, but as Derek said, more locations to offer your clients, and as I do not know MUCH about UGT, I know that Darkstar LLC is a company with support around the clock. Sure their downtime a few months ago made us loose clients as well, but they were quick to resolve the issues - considering how BIG the issue was.

Good luck in your search :)
