Cod4 Lag spikes

Hi all,

 

Anyone had problem with lag spikes in cod4? Probably caused by punkbuster.

I contacted evenbalance and got this answer:

Most of my cod4 servers are currently "lagging with spikes", game runs smooth and then suddenly yellow line appears on lagometer and gamestops for 1sec and continue normal, sometimes shows all players ping 999. Boxes are not overloaded.

 

Anyone has a idea how to fix it or we need to wait for the latest pb update.

To be absolutely sure that it is indeed PB causing these spikes I would suggest to disable PB on a server and see if it remedies the issue. If it does, I guess you will just need to wait for PB to release a new update, as stated.

Server : Dell PE 1950 III, 2x Intel Xeon 5420, 16Gb ram, 400Gb SAS

Connection is fine, since only on cod4 servers there is lagg and all other servers are working fine.

 

Noone of you getting those spikes? Did you try your servers?

Which version of punkbuster do you have?

I used to have some lags caused by PB few days ago but they are gone now

I have been getting a few complaints as well about lag spikes.
