Win2008 question/problem

I run win2008 and randomly, like once a week this will happen...

The machines are rebooted daily but, randomly, I believe that TCAdmin is causing this problem - or .NET, and it isn't caused by Windows itself.

What happens is kind of hard to explain, all current running programs (game servers) will continue to run without any problems, however, TCAdmin will not allow you to start any game servers and gives an error saying Cannot start service on computer. Then when you try to login through remote desktop to the machine it will just be a blank black screen.

The only solution I've been able to find to this is rebooting the machine manually.

Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? Or know a solution?

After looking through the Event Log, I can't seem to find any errors except repeated errors for the different tcadmin services which were trying to start, each error is similar to this:

The service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

and this error is also frequent in the same time frame, relating to the same services:

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the service to connect.

I had this problem and Its due to the reboot itself.

Basically theres 1 (or more) programs that are blocking the reboot so you get the remote desktop connection closed, some services stopped but then it fails closing the rest before reboot so the machine gets stuck and the only way to access it again is to reset / manually reboot.

My problem was coming from an arma2 server I believe cuz after I deleted it the problem was gone. Altho I got other arma2 servers running on other machines that are not blocking the restart.

Note that I tried editing registry to force apps to close at shutdown without success.

@tehrichie

Yes, it does not work. Basically anything you try doing to the machine through tcadmin will not work.

I think what you're saying is a system reboot is failing, and causing some things to stop working. That could be the case with your situation, however, that is not the cause of my problem. I am not trying to reboot the machine when this happens, it just happens randomly. I am the only one accessing my machines remotely, I am pretty sure this is a .NET problem.
