WR-Rob
Just had a email from this idiot, i do not know how he has got my email but ive now been included into a mass email with thousands of spam and random email accounts. Titled Dear customer, and telling me all about his latest offer. If you are on here Ben, i advise you to remove my email address from any mailing software you may have. I have never been a customer of yours and find it very strange you should have my email address. There was also many other email addresses that im quite sure are not customers of yours. I have flagged the mail as spam, and will not stand for it. Regards.

GS-Liam
Report the website to hostgator, i'm sure its against there terms of service also you could report the site for copyright and have it terminated for that also
Derek
There are regulations when it comes to email marketing.
proclan
Or you could report it here if Hostgator gets enough complaints they will suspend his account no questions asked: http://www.spamcop.net/
Santino Cid
Or you could report it here if Hostgator gets enough complaints they will suspend his account no questions asked: http://www.spamcop.net/ True, no host likes getting their IPs blacklisted for email spam. Per their TOS, he will be more than just suspended. http://www.hostgator.com/tos.shtml (section 3)
Steven Crothers
I love how everyone blindly jumps to spam just because the OP said it was spam. Perhaps the OP signed up for something inadvertently? Now that you've all swarmed this guy like a pack of wolves and are trying to get his site shut down, you would feel pretty shitty if the email was actually in the list legitly eh? Did you read the OP? Titled Dear customer, and telling me all about his latest offer. If you are on here Ben, i advise you to remove my email address from any mailing software you may have. I have never been a customer of yours and find it very strange you should have my email address. The OP claims that he hasn't signed up with anything related to his company. And also the following.. There was also many other email addresses that im quite sure are not customers of yours. Who wouldn't jump to spam? He has acquired a bunch of email addresses which the OP hasn't signed up to any mailing lists related.
Steven Crothers
Well I know for a fact that these emails weren't randomly picked from a hat - because thats impossible. OP may have signed up for something on another site that the owner controlled, or the OP did signup and is not providing all the details.
Santino Cid
If it is not spam, shame on the OP for raising such a controversy. Although he clearly states he is/was not a customer and that there are "thousands of spam and random email accounts" Now, none of us are investigators and cannot say if it was or was not, in fact, spam. Some of us cannot stand spam and take the proper actions when it arises, to prevent it in the future.

Steven Crothers
Or there is also the possibility of a security or legal breach within a privacy policy, or separate policy alike. Its far more possible that OP's email was harvested from another site for the specific use of advertisement. To assume some conspiracy about a security breach of some other site is to far fetched. Its far more probable that OP signed up for something and the person is using his email legally - although annoyingly.
WR-Rob
Sorry i havent been around, I can ensure you the email account is not signed up for anything. Its a business email address, not the typical sale@ or support@ its my direct email account. If it was one of the public emails, i would have still been annoyed but it would have more likely been used for things like forums etc. But as this is my direct email it remains only given out when I give it out. I will report this to his host today as its not on.
WR-Rob
Also just done a Google of my email to see if its been used anywhere, but there is no matching results.
