Just had a email from this idiot, i do not know how he has got my email but ive now been included into a mass email with thousands of spam and random email accounts.

Titled Dear customer, and telling me all about his latest offer.

If you are on here Ben, i advise you to remove my email address from any mailing software you may have. I have never been a customer of yours and find it very strange you should have my email address.

There was also many other email addresses that im quite sure are not customers of yours.

I have flagged the mail as spam, and will not stand for it.

Regards.

I love how everyone blindly jumps to spam just because the OP said it was spam. Perhaps the OP signed up for something inadvertently? Now that you've all swarmed this guy like a pack of wolves and are trying to get his site shut down, you would feel pretty shitty if the email was actually in the list legitly eh?

Did you read the OP?

The OP claims that he hasn't signed up with anything related to his company. And also the following..

There was also many other email addresses that im quite sure are not customers of yours.

Who wouldn't jump to spam? He has acquired a bunch of email addresses which the OP hasn't signed up to any mailing lists related.

If it is not spam, shame on the OP for raising such a controversy. Although he clearly states he is/was not a customer and that there are "thousands of spam and random email accounts"

Now, none of us are investigators and cannot say if it was or was not, in fact, spam.

Some of us cannot stand spam and take the proper actions when it arises, to prevent it in the future.

Well I know for a fact that these emails weren't randomly picked from a hat - because thats impossible. OP may have signed up for something on another site that the owner controlled, or the OP did signup and is not providing all the details.

Or there is also the possibility of a security or legal breach within a privacy policy, or separate policy alike.

Its far more possible that OP's email was harvested from another site for the specific use of advertisement. To assume some conspiracy about a security breach of some other site is to far fetched. Its far more probable that OP signed up for something and the person is using his email legally - although annoyingly.

Sorry i havent been around,

I can ensure you the email account is not signed up for anything. Its a business email address, not the typical sale@ or support@ its my direct email account. If it was one of the public emails, i would have still been annoyed but it would have more likely been used for things like forums etc. But as this is my direct email it remains only given out when I give it out.

I will report this to his host today as its not on.

This is becoming silly.

I have now had the following email:

Hello.

This is just a quick message, Thanks to your Game / Dedi provider GameServersDirect.net we got an email consisting of all their emails. I can't even begin to tell you how silly this looks for them and outlook doesn't look very good right now that's for sure with DPA and all.

Anyways You may or May Not know of http://fpsgame.co.uk but we have been in business for almost 1 yr now providing games like COD4, CS1.6, CS:CZ & Counter-Strike Source (250 + 500 FPS). We specialise in High Quality, No Lag War Servers with insane Reg, as we like to say "Ping Perfect" (Wait that's almost like Simon Cowl when he said "Note Perfect" right? OMG that's cleaver ;)

Anyway moving on from myself trying to be funny, We would like to offer all GameServersDirect customers 1 MONTH FREE of what ever service they choose as a way of saying thanks for switching to us. We can also offer you a custom deal should you need more than 1 server.

There is not order form as of yet for this deal however you can take up this offer by emailing us via support@fpsgame.co.uk and this will open a support ticket for you if our piping still works lol. Check your email once your sent us a reply as this will then send you an email stating your user name and password to login to our ticket system which enables you to communicate one to one with out techs and sales team.

Oh, one last thing, Many people ask us this, YES! We are an OFFICIAL LIMITED UK COMPANY with REAL STAFF and a REAL REGISTERED OFFICE. Feel free to pop round for a cuppa if you like. Just tell us in advance when your coming so we can put the kettle on ;)

Many Thanks,
