mirl
Hi Guys & Gals, Im looking for a little help please. i have a friend that normaly does all this for me but hes not around atm hehe. i have been trying to add custom maps to the cod 4 servers. i have got them working great. my issue is when a player in the game downloads the map its max speed is like 13kbs to takes 40 min to download a map. i have uploaded the maps onto my webserver ( differnt server ) how can i set it so TC Admin downloads from there. i have custom mods that are installed and my friend did it that way so mods download at like 3mbs ive just no idea how he did this so i can set the maps to doo the same. if anyone can point me in the right direction would be great.. also in TCadmin - plugins -ftp config - i set it to -1 for unlimited traffic and still slow hehe thats why i want it to come from my other server.. Best Regards Mirl
dimitrifrom31
its nothing related to TCA but to your server config. Just allow http downloads and point the redirection to your webspace.
bobcat
Hi mirl, You need to set the download url in the cod4 server.cfg. Should look like this . // Client Download Settings. (0=off/1=on) Used for MODs and custom maps // See included Quick Setup Guide for instructions. set sv_allowdownload "1" seta sv_wwwDownload "1" //seta sv_wwwBaseURL "http://www.your_website.com/base_folder" seta sv_wwwBaseURL "ftp://client:client@ftpfiles.myftp.org" seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "1" Hope this helps Regards. w00der
Hi Mirl I think you are confusing TCADMIN with COD4 http redirect. What you are looking for is the in game http redirect and has nothing todo with tcadmin, in your cod 4 server.cfg which should be located in your mods folder you need to ammend the lines that are : set sv_allowdownload "1" seta sv_wwwDownload "1" seta sv_wwwBaseURL "" seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "" seta sv_dl_maxRate "400000" //max download speed 42000 = 12kb Make sure you set the line: seta sv_wwwBaseURL "yourdownloadlocation.com" from then on it should download fine whats occuring at the moment the download is falling back to the files from the server as opposed to the redirect location. Hope this helps and merry xmas.
