Broseph
I've recently bought a license and I've installed TCAdmin on my master - everything is working great but I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to in the Knowledge Base or the forums. Issue 1: Default Configs, Mods, etc. At the moment I get all of my game files from an FTP server that I don't have access to. I wanted to edit the paths for the default configs as the ones set weren't working so I clicked the Copy button in order to have the ability to change those settings. After I clicked Save I get this message: "Warning: There is a game that is downloaded from an FTP server with the same files folder name (TF2). If you want to install this game using the local files you must change the files folder. For example: TF2_local" Also, now I'm left with two copies of "Team Fortress 2" in the games list. Should I just delete the old one that was created from the fileserver? How can I have just one option to install TF2 (the local option) on the create server menu? Regarding the local copy, if I understand correctly, I need to create a TF2local (or similar) folder in order to install servers with my changed default config settings. I know this is covered in the admin guide but I need a few more pointers: what exactly do I need to put into this server to make it functional? If I want installs to be just copied over locally instead of downloaded from the fileserver, do I just simply take a clean game install and put it in the TF2local folder so that the filestructure looks like this: TF2local/orangebox/tf? Issue 2: Adding game servers from another box I recently switched a few things around and I've needed to readd a few servers on my installation. I've been doing it manually and while the servers function great I've noticed a few oddities. Here's what I did: - restored UserFiles and Services in the TCAdmin Monitor folder (did not have saved database unfortunately) - readded each service manually - renamed UserFiles folder to match the new TCAdmin Service ID since I couldn't figure out how to make it keep the same ID as before - after service started, deleted old Services/OLD_TCAdmin_ServiceID However, when I go into task manager, right click on one of the srcds.exe processes and click open file location - nothing happens. If I click on Properties I get an error that indicates that Windows is looking for the srcds.exe folder under UserFiles/OLD_TCAdmin_ServiceID. This is only happening for half the servers even though I've followed the steps I outlined above for all of them. Anyone know what I did wrong? Thanks in advance for any help and thanks for the great product!
