dchservers.com for sale

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to sell http://www.dchservers.com to a reputable GSP that is also interested in hiring me. Among the usual requirements I also do web design, take a look here: http://dumbnelby2.deviantart.com/gallery/

I'm available every weekday from 10:30am - Midnight and on weekends. We are currently running about 100 game servers (down from 250 8 months ago due to illness). Most of the remaining clients have been with us from 1-2 years. Let me know if there is room for me on the team and hopefully we can come up with a good deal.

The main reason I'm selling is because we've lost a lot of clients in the past few months and I haven't been able to recover and I'm also tired of running a GSP just by myself.

Thanks,

Jesse

Please e-mail me regarding this. :)

It's a shame game server clients are really worth next to nothing unless you have 750+ game server clients as that is the only way you will have a decent turn over.

wha? maybe when your charging .10/slot...

Price per slot someone is charging (unless it's stupid like 0.49 cents a slot) has nothing to do with the turn over you will get. The amount of time the clients have been with the company question has everything to do with the turn over you will get. We all know the cancellation rate and the amount of clients that will leave after one month is very high for game servers. It's not like web hosting clients where you will get 12-24 months of revenue.

We have yet to come by a game server provider that is worth buying as the only thing that is worth buying are assets (and clients are not assests in our books) such as servers , software , proprietary technology and such. The main reason is due to the HUGE gap between game server providers that are <4 years old and 6+ years old. Sadly the providers that are 6+ years old are not looking to sell :)

Hmm.. I suppose thats your opinion, I however very strongly disagree. My synonym was related to smaller/startup gsps, not actual price per slot. :)

Anywho, good luck with your sale Jesse.

I agree with Derek, clients are not high value assets. Game server customers have little to no company or brand loyalty.

It looks like the word is already out about DCH is wanting to sell. I have already picked up a few of their customers. The longer they wait the less the company is worth.

My last offer is still valid just let me know what you want to do.

The best way to retain game server clients after purchasing a GSP is to continue to operate the new property as its own store front.

Agreed, but the brand has to be already stronger then what you are currently operating. Back to my point where providers that are worth taking over are not selling as there are so few :)

I disagree, this would require a duplication of effort and resources.

The only thing that makes small companies worth purchasing is the ability to reduce fixed operating cost by consolidating resources.

I wouldn't continue running both game server providers, nor would I purchase a company smaller then what I am already running ;)

Any company is for sale if the price is right. The problem is not that the reputable GSPs are not for sale you just don't want to pay the price that they require.

Someone took my $200/month game server client that has been with me for the past 2 years... lucky he's worth nothing tho, right?

haha

I believe customer relations build brand loyalty. And some owners got it, some don't :)

:) Congrats on the sale.

Oh no, whatever provider it is told him I was closing my doors and that the servers would be shutoff without warning. That's why I'm rattled. He'll be moving back hopefully as we've discussed what is actually happening.

Just because you continue to operate a store front doesn't mean your footprint increases.

Agree, disagree, doesn't mean much to me. :)
