Jesse
Has anyone else received a $100 adwords credit on valentines day and another $100 on May 6th (in the mail)? Seems like a lot of free money if they're sending them to everyone with Adsense accounts.
NightLinks
I receive them coupons occasionally the last one I received was about a week ago.
proclan
Use the credit because there ctr ratio is not worth spending real money for generic advertising.

HGN-Daniel
All that traffic is worthless if you can't convert it. If you are spending anymore than a few hundred dollars a month in adwords it would be wise of you to spend some time on a good landing page and setup some conversion tracking in your analytics software. HGN-Daniel
and you don't think we don't ? If it didn't convert we wouldn't be spending even $50. I wasn't directing it at anyone specifically, was I? Usually people new to adwords will overlook it when they start - and by the time they realize they need to take a look at their investment they're already spending a ton of money on adwords. Thats about what we used to spend but I don't think 50.00 per client in advertising cost is the way to go. Try setting up the key word "web hosting" last i check it was up to 22.00 per click to get on the first page. Then add in all the click fraud (yes your competitors do click on your links) and your budget is out of control. We used google, yahoo and msn all at the same time and I believe the best ctr we ever got was using msn which is now bing for search. The cost per click is driven by how many competitors choose to use your keywords and the keyword popularity. The more competitors the higher cost per click. Look at "game server provider" you have RackSpace,Networksolutions, Godaddy and a few other big dogs driving the cost up.

We didn't have a problem running them it's just a waste of money in our view but you'll find that out later on. I think I'll use my 100 ad credit just to prove a point. I'll leave it at that....... KingJ
I received two sets of £75 vouchers from them a while back, but for new accounts only. Setup two new accounts and spent them, got a few conversions but nowhere near the £150 total worth of the vouchers.

I don't care if you have been running google adwords for 15 years, that just show's you still don't know how to properly run a adword campaign. If it has been working for us for almost 6 months now why would it stop working 6 months from now "so we won't find out later". Using $100 ad credit, once again just shows your inability to run a proper google adword campaign. You know why ? As you need to spend months and months to properly adjust adwords (tweaking , changing settings , removing/adding keywords and so on) it's not something you can do for a few weeks and expect it to convert for you. I'm sure Adam will agree with me here, it takes time and alot of work for it too properly work for you and you can't just chuck $100 in for a few weeks and have it do wonders. I will attest to the fact that should an advertising campaign be utilized to help drive traffic, a properly thoughtout campaign is absolutely critical. Or if you'd like, I can take your money and give you nothing in return just as easy and quicker than google/chitika/adbrite/cj/amazon can. I however don't feel it is a critical business step for survivial or achieving sustainable growth. SEO, and page optimization is an incredible advantage that plays a crtical role in all of those. And as you know in this 1 character change can make all the difference. An effective campaign absolutely needs to be strung out, and properly budgeted for and sustained for said amount of time. Data is your friend! Simply thowing an image link or text link up does nothing but empty your piggy bank. A large budget doesn't mean win or loose either. I was successfully converting traffic on rediculously low cpc's, and cpm's with just subtle wording changes, price fluctuations and sales gimmicks/addons. The most critical part is that conversion. Every piece fits together to make the puzzle... hence part of the reason I am a domain whore
