Gemini
I did some searching on this issue and didn't find a definite answer. So hopefully someone can help out here. This is in regards to a couple of my CS 1.6 Servers running at 1000 FPS. Just to put it out there the hardware the game servers are running off of are Dual Quad HarperTowns 2 x - 12MB Cache - 1333FSB 8GB DDRII Fully Buffered Ram 250GB SATA II HardDrive I add this to the command line as well +sys_ticrate 0 +alias sys_ticrate wait (Im not even sure what the +alias wait , is for or why it is even in there). The CPU usage on the box barely hits 6 percent OS -Windows Server 2008 Ping booster running. (I did some reading on these forums and found alot of post claming that OS windows server 2008 alone should give you 1000 FPS without booster. For me without booster it hits 64 FPS another thing I cant figure out) The issue is the fps will drop to as low as 200 FPS , Lets say I run the command Stats to the server it will report back 1000 fps a couple times drop to 900 then drop to 200 , 400 , 500 back to 1000 . This is all within lets say issuing the stats command ten times in a row. So as you can see the FPS is very unstable. I never used to have this problem , my 1.6 servers actually used to report back 1000 fps 4 out 5 times with only a drop to 950 at the lowest! If any one has any ideas on what I can do to stop this from happening please let me know !
lpgservers
Continually running that command will result in unsteady results. It doesn't necessarily reflect the true fps at that time. However, is HPET enabled and the obvious answer must be yes if your able to hit 1000 at all.
Gemini
Yes its enabled, But the thing is it never used to drop down to such a low. There is actually a website that will run a hour or 2 long test on your server and give you loss and drops of fps but I forget what the link was. Ended in a .de I believe. But regardless it shouldn't ever drop to 200 fps I feel. Or at least it never used to
dimitrifrom31
-sys_ticrate 1000 remove the alias thats not needed for 1000FPS as your at the max already. this is only top prevent users changing the value manually. thne run the server manually with a bat so you can check the fps directly in console the website your looking for is http://www.fpsmeter.org/ or fragaholics.de

Id like to hear peoples thoughts on what they feel is better and why. Of course I know I'm going to get some replies telling me best way is to test for my self and I shall , but still want to hear what you think in regards to that. As for running it in console mode Ive noticed that when running a server in console the fps looks alot more stable. Its just trying to explain that to the customer. And yes that was the website ^^. Il post back what console has to say. Thanks for the support thus far
dimitrifrom31
-sys_ticrate 1000 and 0 can have similar results. Its just up to you to compare. On a side note and in regards to customer having it to 1000 is better as they can consider 0 as something negative. Just replace + by - and see if its any better
