xcalibur
I'm looking at hosting a few game servers and I was wondering if this server would be good to host games like team fortress 2, left 4 dead 2, killing floor, etc. Or should I build a better one or keep looking? proclan
That would be fine to start out with you could also upgrade the memory to 8-12 gig so you can fully utilize the dual quad cores.
xcalibur
Is it better to get a quad with higher ghz like a 2.4 or ?
lpgservers
You'll always want to go with the highest clock speed you can afford for better performance. If you have to, downgrade to a single quad to get a much higher clock speed versus using the slower dual quads.
trancemode
Are you renting or looking to build one yourself?

proclan
From what games your wanting to run that server would be good enough to get you started if your on a tight budget.
