Limiting CSS FPS

Hi Guys,

 

I see many of you offer varying server side FPS for CSS, but yet I am not understanding how exactly you are limiting a server to say 250FPS when the server is able to achieve 1000FPS (based on the server OS and server hardware).

 

Anyone care to share some hints on how you are doing this?

In case anyone comes across this.

 

fps_max # I believe is the command. You generally want to have that higher than the purchased fps as it fluctuates, then clients complain.... blah

 

for 1000FPS people usually set it to fps_max 0

 

in some games this command is locked, like for l4d/2 but may be unlocked through a third party plugin
