lewis4490
Hey, I would like to know how many slots rFactor can run, Min slots: Max slots: Thanks Lewis
SickPuppy
It will depend on the MOD installed. The limit on rFActor is the number of pit boxes. There are only 43 unique pit boxes. If you have more then 43 drivers they will have to share a pit box.
lewis4490
Ah okay, I don't have the game but a customer wanted me to install it. Thanks so much for the reply though
SickPuppy
Not an easy game to host you need a good TCAdmin config and if you want to run Hotlaps you will need to create a batch file
{-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
That game will run 100+ slots on a single server. With that many slots it takes some tweaking to the files for it to run smooth. Make sure you have a good size HDD because 1 server can easily get to 50 or 90 GB. {-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
Depending on the FPS setting, slots, the track, AI racers and the mod a server can eat up a lot of CPU. A server with human 43 players isn't so bad but if that server has 20 or more AI racers then it will eat up a lot of CPU. It also uses a good amount of bandwidth for a 43 active slot server over 8000 kb/s per connection.

SickPuppy
The main issue with rFactor is bandwidth. Don't try to throttle back the upstream or downstream settings. Keep them at the max. Also set the dedicated target rate to 275 This will reduce lag but will use more CPU. Upstream Rated KBPS="8042" Downstream Rated KBPS="8042" Dedicated Target Rate="275"
