BF2CC & Server 2008 R2 Std, 64-bit

Hi Guys,

I have read other posts here that others are able to run BF2CC on a Server 2008 machines without issue, however I cannot get it to work for the life of me.

Current setup: TCAdmin fires up BF2CC which in turn starts the BF2 server.

In this setup the CC starts up fine, however it is unable to fire up the BF2 server itself - I have confirmed even with it interacting with the desktop and running under system.

I can start the BF2CC manually via the desktop and it works like a charm. I have also tried other user accounts and am unable to get it work when using it in combination with TCAdmin (well as a service in general).

Anyone find a solution to this?

Lane,

I could be wrong but I think you have to set the exe to BF2CC to run as administrator. We were having an issue like that but one of our techs got it resolved and I thought that was the resolution. However it was a manual resoultio that we would set one time per install.

Tried, does not appear to make any difference if you tell it to use system, administrator or another user.

Yes you need to run it with system account, did you install all the needed dependencies mentioned on their site?

In our case everything is working great, but we have "interact with desktop" checked.

OS : Win 2008 x64

Its not a dependency issue as it works just fine when not running as a service.

Lane,

Am i correct to say that the bf2ccd will fire up and get stuck on querying map name?

if so try this

Under services in the server manager for windows, edit the service for the game.

Find the service

Right click and enter the properties window

Click on the log on tab

Select use this account

Enter a admin account

Enter the password for that account

Confirm the password

Hit ok and try starting the server thru TCA

the main problem for this is that the System account will not allow an .exe to start an .exe like it did in 2003
