COD Files from steam?

I have just bought COD 1 and 2 and UO, Will the files from the steam download work to run the server?

If memory recalls correctly they were fine, we are talking almost 3 years since I setup either of them though.

Ok cause I put all the files into the COD folder loaded up a server (this is using TCAdmin v2) and it just sits on about 7 meg of ram being used, Which doesnt seem much lol

Install game and try to join your server.

Like peace said, try to join it. If you can browse it, ping it, query via TCA, Gametrack it and join it, your good to go.

 

If it's not showing a startup error and shows as running in V2 chances are that it is indeed running. YMMV as to what you may need to change in order to query etc inside TCA though.

The exe from the steam files wouldn't work for those two and I had to use the ones from the cd version of the game.

I have got it going cause I used my COD1 exe of the CD I have got, But I cannot update the server to 1.5 says I need to use a CD key but there is nowhere for me to put this. Is there any other way round it for the server update?
