mattb
I was wondering how do you guys do a stress test on your servers and for how long. Do you wait for the cpu to go above 50%? If someone has files on their server configured and everything, and they want to move it to another location (master server to remote) would the person have to re-confgiure their server again or make backups then upload the files back to the server. icekohl
assuming you have TCA write your .cfgs and cmd lines (which I would think you do) moving a service should be hands free. As for server stress testing, I usually just perform my usual burn in and go with it, using widely available monitoring/reporting software to alert me to any issues as they happen. I'm not sure that there are many bench/stress programs out there that are specialized towards game hosting, outside of a few college thesis projects that I've seen on youtube. I'm sure if Monk saw this he could give you a long list of things to do, many of which would require something to catch your melting brain in. mattb
Thanks, Yes I am using TCA 1.0, so moving the server to a new location would require me to move all the files..? There was a test which someone filled the server 24/7 and saw how much resources it used, but that really looked like unsure results.
