2000 unique IP's

One of my servers got attacked by a pretty heavy DDoS last night so I decided to make the best of it and turned on Wireshark and got all of the 2000 unique ips and chucked them into a php array. I've only whoised a couple of the IPs, but they seem to be from Russia/Amsterdam.

how can you be positive they weren't spoofed? Do you still have the pcap? Did you look at the packets?
