Files are downloaded as executables

We recently changed to Linux servers, and I must say that I find something very weird.

A lot of the files that are downloaded using SteamCMD are marked as executable files (chmod +x). This can be anything from .cfg files to .bsp (map files) and so on.

Do we really have to chmod -x each file that shouldn't be marked as an executable?
