Creating game configs questions and best way?

Hi,

What is the best way to create game configs, mainly for Linux.

Do I install the game manually then, create the config, on how it was run, or do I need to note down, how it was installed etc...?

Is it possible to convert Windows version to Linux?

Also I can I create game configs, in TCAdmin and then export them?

Finally is it only the .xml file need, that needs to be created, with everything in it?

Thanks

1. Depending what game u are wanting to make depends how you go about making it. if its steam games eazy you put the steam id into the steam part in the config that will download it.

as for windows to linux it can be done you just need to tweak with some settings ie anything that use windows commands will have to be changed.

you can make then export them.

All you need is the xml unless you have added mods.

Take a look at some of the linux game configs that come with tcadmin that will help you on your way :) if there is anything els you need just post :)

The main difference between windows and linux configs is the executable. To port a config from windows over to linux you just have to edit what to launch (server.exe to server.sh or whatever you need)

For steam games you should use the steam installer tool

http://www.whatever.tld/Interface/GameHosting/GameTools.aspx

and then you can create a config using the tool located at

http://www.whatever.tld/Interface/GameHosting/CreateGameGuide.aspx

Import and export buttons should be in the config list located
