wickedcpu
Using default TCAdmin config. Have tried wiping all the files from tcafiles & downloading again. LFA
Running it manually from ssh might give more information about the crash. Dennis
Paste the entire log. Most obvious to me would be that the config file might have deprecated settings included.
wickedcpu
I'm using the config included with the panel. If there is a more fully featured config here on the forum you recommend, I'll try that. Running manually I get the following in SSH: $ ./startserver.sh -configfile=serverconfig.xml Using config file: serverconfig.xml eac_server.so [x64] :: OnLoad() eac_server.so [x64] :: OnUnload() Full log: Set current directory to /home/tcagame/emp/11 Found path: /home/tcagame/emp/11/7DaysToDieServer.x86_64 Mono path[0] = '/home/tcagame/emp/11/7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed' Mono config path = '/home/tcagame/emp/11/7DaysToDieServer_Data/Mono/etc' Preloaded 'libeac_server.so' Preloaded 'libeasyanticheat.so' Preloaded 'libgetrss.so' Preloaded 'libsteam_api.so' Preloaded 'steamclient.so' Unable to preload the following plugins: libMouseLib.so libeac_server.so libeasyanticheat.so libgetrss.so libsteam_api.so steamclient.so libMouseLib.so Initialize engine version: 2018.2.0f2 (787658998520) Forcing GfxDevice: Null GfxDevice: creating device client; threaded=0 NullGfxDevice: Version: NULL 1.0 [1.0] Renderer: Null Device Vendor: Unity Technologies Begin MonoManager ReloadAssembly - Completed reload, in 0.037 seconds UnloadTime: 0.269000 ms 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.031 INF Awake 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.051 WRN Setting global culture failed! 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.080 INF Version: Alpha 17.4 (b4) Compatibility Version: Alpha 17.4, Build: Linux 64 Bit 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.080 INF System information: 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.108 INF OS: Linux 4.15 Ubuntu 18.04 64bit 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.109 INF CPU: Intel® Core i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz (cores: 8) 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.109 INF RAM: 32077 MB 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.109 INF GPU: Null Device (128 MB) 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.110 INF Graphics API: NULL 1.0 [1.0] (shader level 3.0) 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.117 INF Last played version: Alpha 17.4 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.117 INF Local UTC offset: -7 hours 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.118 WRN Setting global culture failed! 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.122 INF Command line arguments: ./7DaysToDieServer.x86_64 -logfile 7DaysToDieServer_Data/output_log__2019-09-02__09-28-26.txt -quit -batchmode -nographics -dedicated -configfile=serverconfig.xml 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.123 INF Parsing server configfile: /home/tcagame/emp/11/7DaysToDieServer_Data/../serverconfig.xml 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.135 ERR Error parsing configfile: 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.135 EXC unexpected end of file. Dennis
I wasn't talking about the TCAdmin config file. I was talking about the server config file (the one that configures the game server itself). 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.135 ERR Error parsing configfile: 2019-09-02T09:28:27 0.135 EXC unexpected end of file. Current depth is 1 Line 72, position 243. There's your problem. 7 Days to Die simply can't start if there's errors or invalid entries in the game config. Try to post your serverconfig here. wickedcpu
Found what was causing the crashing in the config. It was actually incomplete on the bottom half. Was missing all of the bold text shown here: <property name="MaxUncoveredMapChunksPerPlayer" value="131072"/> <!-- Override how many chunks can be uncovered on the ingame map by each player. Resulting max map file size limit per player is (x * 512 Bytes), uncovered area is (x * 256 m²). Default 131072 means max 32 km² can be uncovered at any time --> <property name="BedrollDeadZoneSize" value="15"/> <!-- Size of bedroll deadzone, no zombies will spawn inside this area, and any cleared sleeper volumes that touch a bedroll deadzone will not spawn after they've been cleared. --> <!--property name="SaveGameFolder" value="absolute path" /--> <!-- use this to override the default save game path --> <property name="ServerLoginConfirmationText" value="" /> <!-- If set the user will see the message during joining the server and has to confirm it before continuing --> <!-- There are several game settings that you cannot change when starting a new game. You can use console commands to change at least some of them ingame. setgamepref BedrollDeadZoneSize 30 --> </ServerSettings> After that, I had to remove the following two lines: <property name="ZombiesRun" value="0" /> <!-- 0 = default day/night walk/run, 1 = never run, 2 = always run --> <property name="BlockDurabilityModifier" value="100" /> <!-- percentage in whole numbers --> Working fine now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Dennis
No worries! :-) Also, be aware that the serverconfig.xml file will be overwritten by a default one on Steam Updates. You can work around this issue by creating a custom config file using '-configfile=customconfig.xml' in the commandline.
