taras
When users try to use the Re-Install feature, it usually messes the installation up. It seems to be just missing files. This also happens sometimes with the fresh, automated installation. This is why I am concerned. It doesn't happen as often with the automated installations, but I've been receiving a lot of complaints about re-installs that never finish. The FTP server has all the necessary files and I haven't noticed any CPU spikes or network issues that might cause connection loss between the FTP server and Game server. This is the only thing I got out of the logs from the latest incident: "11/4/2006 12:27:54 AM : GSAutomation.Processes.ReinstallGameServer: Could not copy game server files from ftp: /Games/CSSource to D:\UserFiles\username\GameServers\TC41664743260030484348210 Server: TC3517044764050 G02 Owner: username" I fixed the problem by running HLDSUpdate with -verify_all option. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
ECF
Are you using compressed files? .zip or .rar?
Daersun
sounds like your not zipping/raring the files. If you dont zip/rar tcadmin drops it halfway though almost every time
ECF
If you don't have the files compressed I would suggest doing so. Simply zip up the contents of the game folder (not including the top level game flder they are stored in) into a compressed file called the same name as the folder. Example: Counterstrike would be cs.zip or cs.rar. Then drop the zip in the C:\GAmeInstalls directory. Do not put it in the CS folder, simply leave it in the top level directory. TCAdmin will then use the compressed file for setup and automatically decompress it when it gets to the remote server. It's a lot more efficient copying one file vs. many.
