Unique IP

2 questions:

1) Is there a way to tell TCA to use a unique IP for every install regardless of game? Basically, we don't want any IPs to have more than 1 game installed on them. If the auto-IP setting is used in Game Automation, it keeps using the default IP for different games. Maybe I missed this setting somwhere, but is it possible to make it so each IP is used uniquely?

2) How does Game Automation work in regards to deciding which machine a game is installed on if the entire process is automated?

Thanks for your help.

1. You can set the "Only Use Default Port" settings in the game configs. This means the panel will not install to another port than the default, in effect it will only use each IP once.

However, different game type use different ports, so if you install more than one gametype to a machine, it will use the same IP. You would need to manually setup your games if you wanted to specify the IPs for each game, and keep them unique.

2. The plain automation does not check servers unless you use the Modernbill module. The module will then use load balancing data and service levels set within TCAdmin and Modernbill to install to different machines depending on what you have set for variables.

You think this is a doable feature for a future release? To have a setting where each IP is used once regardless of port?

We are having the UberSmith billing system customized to interact with TCA's API and do automation that way. What do I need to tell the developers in regards to load balancing to make sure they include this in the integration?
