Game Installs Location

Anyway to have TCADmin look for the game installs locally on the server first before getting them from the Master FTP server? I don't have disk space to have all the game installs on my Chicago box, but I mainly install CoD2 which is huge so I was hoping I wouldn't have to trasnfer that everytime.

It should automatically looks for it in the local folder before going back to the master or ftp server.

For some reason it did not. Are there any logs that I can look in to try to determine why?

The log files are located in C:\Program Files \TCAdmin on each server.

Do you have it checked under server settings to "save a local copy" ?

I don't think he wants to save all the files locally. Which now that I think of it may not work the way he wants.

 

It is either save them locally, or get them from the master.

I tried the save files locally option, but it seemed like it just saved it under the customers folder for the install. Is that correct? That it has to download from the FTP each time a new server is setup?

If you use the "Save a local file copy" then you will need to make usre that you have the proper directory created on that server eg. C:\GameInstalls

 

You will also need to restart the monitor on that server after making the changes.

 

It should save a compressed copy of any game that you setup on that server to c:\Gameinstalls\<gamename>.zip or .rar, depending on which you use.

Ok, that is probably why. I had not restarted the monitor after saving the change.

Keep in mind that the setting is for all games, not just one. So if you install any other games to that server then those files will also be saved locally.

Yeah, I will just go in and prune the gameinstalls directory if I need to. When I clicked the restart monitor button in TCAdmin the entire box rebooted. I thought it only restarted the TCAdmin Monitor service on the box.

You must have clicked the restart server link by mistake?

 

There are two links under each server. Maybe you confused them?
