JJFS
Well upgraded the server to 1.5b patch and added that msgboom fix thing and still they manage to crash it, see the attachment.
Todd Holley
Make SURE that you patch BOTH .dll files in the MAIN folder. (cod/main). I made that mistake once and I patched both dll's in the cod folder, not cod/main.
JJFS
patch says only game_mp_x86.dll not cgame_mp_x86.dll in the main folder but will try it anyway cause I'm getting tired of these kids.
JJFS
Hmm when I try to patch that cgame_mp_x86.dll it says there are no bytes to change so seems there's nothing left to try then. Still feels like I'm the only one having this problem

Todd Holley
Wow. What version? That patch worked for me, are you sure you are patching the files you are using?.... They made my game servers unstable, but when I tried killing it myself with the buffer overun it didn't die.

JJFS
Well still having the issue with buffer overrun. I attached 2 screenshots of the files I patched, one in the head directory and one in the "main" folder. I run this server with Awe2.12 downloaded from http://awe.milliways.st/awe2.php Am not doing anything wrong I think?

JJFS
Well finally found it out, it was a callvote hack that made it possible for people to crash our server. So now we have the msgboom patch and the callvote patch to prevent them from crashing the server, the server runs fine now for 4 days already so I'm very happy but weird noone knew this solution. Anyway I attached the patched files in a .zip file and keep the same directory structure as the zip. And feel free to join our non-crashable server 82.192.81.134:28960 cod_anticrash.zip
Todd Holley
Oh yeah, I didn't patch my files for that because 99% of my clients do not allow voting on their servers. And this buffer overun only works when ou have votes enabled.

JJFS
Bad news, server still crashes. It happened once this week and again a buffer overrrun. So it seems these patches lowered the number of crashes alot since I used to have it a few times a day but maybe a matter of time till the rest knows how to crash them on that way.
