sfcmert Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 I created a CS:S private server and I can start the service, but after just a few minutes it goes offline. When I check the server settings it keeps changing from "automatic" to "disable" on its own. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be? It was set to disable the server whenever slots, status or branding was removed/changed. I set that to not disable and so far it is working? sfcmert Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share Posted February 10, 2007 OK, that was short lived...both servers have gone down, so that was not the fix...even though it did stop the private server from switching to disabled. What would make TCAdmin think that some setting has been changed? If given enough time, the restart does seem to be working with both servers, what would make a server continually crash and restart like that? swish Posted February 11, 2007 Share Posted February 11, 2007 The "disabling" could be caused by you checking the "Is Branded" box and it doesnt have any branding on it or something. You have to enable the logging in the game server config for which you are trying to trouble shoot. // Server Logging Example log on mp_logdetail 3 mp_logmessages 1 OR seta g_log "server.log" // what you wish to name your log file Depends on the game type your having problems with. I have seen an article that they are moving the Steam/Valve master servers and I have seen that other servers are either not connecting or displaying, I wonder if that is the problem? Another weird thing that is happening, I am getting emails from TCAdmin saying that the private server has been changed to a public...but it hasn't. ECF Posted February 12, 2007 Share Posted February 12, 2007 We have had reports of servers not updating when using the hldsupdatetool. But nothing about master server moves. If you are receiving those emails then you have the game monitoring set to check pub/private. Make sure that you restart all of your monitors after making changes like system and game monitoring. Jissh Posted February 13, 2007 Share Posted February 13, 2007 - log in to remote desktop (make sure you check "connect to console"). - Under services find the service that your having problems with, right click, properties. under the logon tab, select "allow service to interact with desktop". - Apply, OK, restart service. you should now see the console screen for the game on the desktop. (You can see if you are by pulling up taskmanager when you've connected using remote desktop and seeing if your ID 0) if your not in as 0, chances are you won't see the gameserver Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will start to look how to update that service, but if someone would be kind enough to post some direction - it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the help so far, I am going to get this down... When I go into the game update function, it states that there are no updates available for the game?
