Slow browsing after installing SP2 + Win 2003

Recently we had a problem with a few of our staff that use Windows Vista to connect to the servers remotely and thought others might find this helpful.

Symptoms are very slow login and browsing on the remote server.

This seems to be a client issue which only occurs when using a Vista

workstation. From XPSP2 or W2K3SP1 clients everything works properly.

It appears the problems were introduced by the new networking features included with SP2. Disabling some of them client-side solved the problem.

Open a command prompt on your client pc and type the following:

netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

reboot

Hope this helps :)
