Usually we try run all servers at high priority but high resource servers such as CSS we run at above normal. This was valve recommendation. Were also runnin UT servers at above priority. whats ure take on this. You think its better runnin all at high to load balance more efficient ? The point is to give preference to one process over another, if you put them all at high priority, they'll all have the same status once again. I suggest you only do this on certain processes of which youd like to have a bit more control over your system resources. :} Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Monk Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Setting the priority makes no difference unless your taxing CPU time. Priority for proceses is just like QoS for networking. You can tag specific packets to have higher priority than the others, but if you tag all of them to high priority, then it's pretty much useless.
