24play1
Long time since I've posted in this bit lol Right I've had a look through some other posts and can't seem to find a solution to this On a clients dedicated machine when Cod4 map changes it hammers CPU 0 100% no matter what the affinity is set to (by default we leave them unticked) Any one have any ideas as its causing them considerable issues with regards to gameplay Thanks in advance campers
ECF
Sounds like the same problem COD 2 had. Try setting the "Start on CPU0" setting in the service settings. That should start it on CPU 0 and then balance it across all CPUs. Let me know what you see after making that change.

ECF
Must be something with the game. As far as I know it should be multi-threaded according to their documentation. Or it could be hardware related somehow.
adamnp
If you don't see that happening on other servers of yours, id suggest reinstalling the server...Maybe even reload the os.. What are you running on it? Ours are running RC2 SP2 and we see no issues like that....
24play1
2003 SP2 Never seen it before, all other machines are fine
ECF
Same hardware setup on all machines? I know that we had an issue with 1-2 people having the same issue with Counterstrike doing that, which is why we put the Start on CPU0 in the panel. However, other than the 1-2 people that had the problem everyone else was fine.

darren68
Anyone got a fix for this.
ECF
This seems to be hardware specific. Our test machines run it just fine. The only option is to set it to "Start on CPU 0" in the service settings.
