Win2008DC - interact with desktop problem

On Win2008 Datacenter Edition there is no console output when "interact with desktop" checked.

 

Does anybody know how it can be fixed?

There is no fix ATM that we are aware of. Win2k8 operated differently than 2k3. Remember 2k8 is still in beta form.

I will have to speak to Luis about this. I did have a conversation with him about it a while back and he explained that that Win 2k8 was quite a bit different than previous versions.

 

It may not be a possibility to view them any longer with win2k8.

By the way i was wondering whether is it better or not to use .NEt FW 3.0 instead of 1.1? May it's the case?

Use 1.1 with service pack 1 installed.

Actually I am running this on a couple servers, interact with desktop does work. But it places it on a hidden desktop instead of the one you see in remote desktop. You have to switch to view the game.

Maybe you can post how to switch to that hidden desktop here for others to see.

i think hes talking about clicking on the pop up when it says "switch to interactive mode"

 

then you will be able to view the consoles but not type anything into them, just view, and when you close interactive mode it boots you out of RDP. We also experienced glithces and freezing so we stopped checking "interact with desktop" in the tca panel.

 

Try remoting using ultra vnc that might work for you as it takes you to the shadow console 0

For the OP I take it /console on your RDP shortcut doesn't work?

you need to use /admin not /console for 08

 

Also yes 1000fps is achieavable with win 08. We are running 5 1.6 and 1 source server at full 1000fps stable. Just make sure your mobo can handle it. Search the forums there have been many discussions on this topic
