Guest Unregistered
Hi, was considering purchasing and had a few questions I thought the the community might be able to help me out with. 1) can u create packages to be ordered like a 12 slot private and a 24 slot public for blank dollars a month and have modernbill auto create that set? 2) is there a way to set tickrate on sale, like if I wanted to sell 66 tickrate at one price and 100 tickrate at a different price? 3) how easy is installing tcadmin onto my server? 4) is there a way to do vent and team speak packages with servers like if u buy a server u get 50% off a vent? 5) do I need a team speak/ vent liscense to host those? thank you in advance for your respnses, Hudson

JasonF
1) can u create packages to be ordered like a 12 slot private and a 24 slot public for blank dollars a month and have modernbill auto create that set? 2) is there a way to set tickrate on sale, like if I wanted to sell 66 tickrate at one price and 100 tickrate at a different price? 3) how easy is installing tcadmin onto my server? 4) is there a way to do vent and team speak packages with servers like if u buy a server u get 50% off a vent? 5) do I need a team speak/ vent liscense to host those? 1) You have to tie modernbill to TCAdmin which is not easy 2) You can have the packages in modernbill set as 66 tickrate or 100 tickrate and when the person purchases a particular package it will only create that one. Again you have to have knowledge of how to create a TCAdmin config, tie it to your game server files and then tie it to your modernbill install 3) Easy if you know what you are doing. 4) I have no idea if it will install secondary programs via modernbill 5) Yes, it is illegal to resell those products without being a licensed provider or reseller of those products. It is also illegal to give a "Free" voice server with a game server. You will need to pay licensing fees for all voice servers sold either directly or indirectly. Guest Unregistered
when u say it is not easy, does that mean almost impossible or just 20 hours of learning? some more questions: 1)How do you link the modernbill ordering system to your website? does it host its own site and then it is just a button link to an offsite? 2)Do you order prementioned liscensing off the ventrilo website? studeggle
Each billing system has a learning curve and it’s your personality that matters. I strongly suggest you try out the trials of the billing systems before you proceed. I picked Modernbill up in about 1hr, I know others that could never comprehend it. I hate Clientexec and could never get it to behave like I wanted, but once again I know people who love it and picked it right up. MB4 does not do multiple automated setups from one order, you would have to do the additional setups. MB5 will do multiple setups from one order but there is no public integration at this point. I do believe from an early post though that TcAdmin is looking at starting work on that integration again so perhaps in the not to distant future. Also go browse the forums here and at the billing software sites to see what problems and lack of problems people are having with integration. Also note Modernbill is in transition so to speak, as it was bought out, so its future is a bit uncertain now.
DougK94
I used MB for about 5 years and just switched to CE. I also tested WHMCS for a while. All three are decent products. All have pluses and minuses to them. MBv4 did not have some new features I needed. MBv5 does not yet work with TCA, and in my opinion is still not quite there (I have today's 5.3.1). WHMS probably has the most features, but I did not care for it's template system. CE 3.0.2 is not bad, and the beta 3.1.0 is better. CE is missing a couple of things I could use, but it was the closest match for my needs. Do as studeggle suggested and check out the forums for these, some have free demos too. soko
Tcadmin for me was a no brainer install. I had a few hiccups afterwards but tcadmin support even logged in to my server and verified some things. WONDERFUL support!! I would strongly suggest if you don't have EXPERT level experience with ALL the modernbill installations required just have them install it. I was wary at first but for $50 it was installed and fully functional/connected to tcadmin in 1 day! After that setup will take you a long time. With my setup I have it running for modernbill to get the $ and setup the entire tcadmin package and wait for my command. LITERALLY one click inside modernbill and it sends the create server command to tcadmin creates the user, builds the server and sends client email when complete. Incredibly usefull! You can also create package addons individually. So if you want to give 50% off vent pricing with server purchase just set pricing accordingly and "assign" the vent to the server packages. a little bit of work but you can do almost everything you want. don't expect it to be easy or automated in setup but it can be done.
