cyberwolfie
Hi Guys, Does anyone else still run Farcry servers? We have a few still. For some reason, our servers have just started crashing after 5-10 mins, they have been fine for a long time. If I run the server from outside of TCadmin as a shortcut it's fine, but as soon as I start the tcadmin service, it will always crash after 5-10 minutes of it being on. I have tried brand new fresh builds, this hasn't helped. It's across multiple servers using the latest patched version of tcadmin and farcry. Having spent all weekend on it, I am now lost. What could be different between a tcadmin service running the server and me running it with an identical shortcut.
adamnp
Try setting your gamecompatability in the main game configuration to blank.
cyberwolfie
Sadly, it didn't make any difference. I can't even catch the error as the servers restart as soon as they crash. I did try setting the log on for the service to administrator, just in case, but that also hasn't stopped them crashing.
adamnp
Sounds like your game compatability is wrong, and TCA is thinking the server has crashed, therefor restarting the service. I would submit a ticket and have one of them take a peak at your stuff If you don't need the autorestart, you can disable that in the plugins area aswell
cyberwolfie
Sadly TCadmin support has directed me back here So to recap on the problem. Run the server through tcadmin > farcry crashes / restarts after 5-10 mins Run the server with tcadmin's command line from a shortcut, it's fine. I fail to see what could be different between the two, we always interact with the desktop on our services, so in theory its the same. The only variable here is tcadmin. Anyone have any ideas? adamnp
I would again try disabling the auto restart on crash protection, and see if the game crashes. If it does, then it sounds as if your startup line is incorrectly placed into the config file, if it doesn't then I would again reitterate the game compatability issue
ECF
The ticket has been assigned to another person. I logged into the panel and noticed you had the game compatibility shut off, so that may solve your problem. If it does please update the ticket. adamnp
Thats what I had figured was the issue, let us know cyberwolfie how you make out!
cyberwolfie
We used to have it set to farcry compatibility, but as advised here we tried it with it off. Sadly the issue still exists no matter which way we do it.
