Redeye
I have a problem on two remote servers with FTP The servers are configured with additional ip's for the gameservers. All situations we can logon the server but returning data will be the problem (Active and Pasv): - FTP does work with the firewall on when I use the server (main) IP - FTP does work with the firewall off when I use the server (main) IP - FTP does not work with the firewall on when I use the gameserver (additional) IP - FTP does work with the firewall off when I use the gameserver (additional) IP It looks like the windows firewall does not accept the ftp rule for it's additional ip data port. But my other servers do :s. Both servers run win2k3 sp2, 1 is standard edition, the other is enterprise. Does anyone have a clue ?
studeggle
I'm guessing a typo in the rule for the firewall. See it all the time people swearing up and down its configured correctly then all of a sudden a periods in the wrong place, a subnet mask is off, something of that sort. As there is no reason for the firewall to accept some IPs but not others as long as there are no typos.

Redeye
Well, a typo could be, but, when tcadmin is installed, it adjusts the firewall. I haven't adjusted the firewall to make ftp work, that's the frustrating thing. How can we explain that the ftp server with the win2k3 firewall on, is working on the main IP and not on the additional ip. You can't enter the server ip's into the firewall. How can the tcadmin monitor work, but the integrated ftp service doesn't in all situations. The firewall accepts every traffic to the ports that the application opens, because it is not opened on port but on executable. So, I understand what you are saying, I guess there is a human error involved, that's me , but I just can't get it figured out where the TYPO should be. HIS-MOTHER
You already stated earlier that it doesnt work with FTP OFF so it's deifnately in your setup somewhere. Get it working with the firewall off first. Aslo editing that section has this in it.. † : Requires a new config file and monitor restart * : Requires monitor restart Are you setting a new cfg and or restarting the monitor after you save this? I tried switch between passive and port, with updating the the monitor config, no go.
