dantheman420
Hello, I am thinking about renting a dedicated server. But im not really sure what my needs are as far as server specs and pricing I want a machine that can run 2 counter-strike source servers, team fortress 2 server, and a small garrys mod servers. So like a max total of 60-70 slots. This is what I am planning to run: 1 css private 10 slot 100 tick high fps server (but is gonna be barely used probably) 1 css public 16-20 slot 100 tick server. 1 public Team fortress 2 16-20 slot server 1 garrys mod public 5-8 slot server. and also like a 20 slot ventrilo server as far as location. I need it to be in the west region of USA. Mostly in the california area like san jose, LA, or San Diego. Seattle or dallas would probably be the farthest i would want to go. Can anybody point me in the right direction to go? I have a budget of no more then like $120-$150 max if that would be possible? Please help if you can! Thank you
swish
Running all that you will probably want at least a core2duo. Just about everyone with a * on their name (including us) on this page: http://tcadmin.com/dedicated.php can help you out. But you probably looking closer to 175ish when you include the panel and Windows and all.
jcroom
yea a core2duo w/ 2 gigs of ram would do you good.
SickPuppy
We don't rent dedicated boxes but if you were to rent all of those servers from SMAKUGAMES.COM it would cost you around $60 a month and it would include a free 58 slot ventrilo or Teamspeak. If you think you might want to play ranked games like BF2 or Quake Wars I would go with Hypernia. You get unlimited free ranked games when you rent a dedicated box from them. HIS-MOTHER
If you think you might want to play ranked games like BF2 or Quake Wars I would go with Hypernia. You get unlimited free ranked games when you rent a dedicated box from them. Keep in mind if you are going to RESELL these titles only BF2 Ranked is resellable via our (Hypernia) servers. All other official ranked Titles are for personal use only.

dantheman420
ok would this be a better machine? Quadcore q6600 4 GB ram 250 Gb HDD Windows server 2003 100Mbit dedicated port

For what you want to run a Core 2 Duo is all you need. The quad core is better but at what price. Unless you already have a license for Ventrilo I don't think you are going to get one for 20 slots. You will need to rent a ventrilo.
dantheman420
for the quad core, i got it discounted to 100$$ that doesn't include tcadmin, but does include windows 2003 and anti virus

BLAST3R
He has indicated to wish a dedicated server. Not gameservers seperately.
Derek
This thread seems like an auction but who bids the less to gain a client.
dantheman420
Its not really a auction. BLAST3R was right. All I was asking where to rent a cheap dedicated server, not individual game servers. And if someone offers unexpensive dedicated boxes then please let me know. Derek
You will not find a dedicated box for $120 for what you want to run. If you do I am sure it will be linux along with no control panel.
