Anything that would allow you to accomplish that division would eat up to many resources for the box to be any good for gaming. VPS are for web hosting and other simular actvities, not gaming.

In theory would it not work? with quad core procesors and programs like Virtual Server and others out there what is the difference between using a quad core server split into 2 or more vm's and using a p4 1 ghz? the VM is actually a more powerful system than the old systems that we used to set up as game servers?

Well, that's kind of what I was thinking rent out a dual core 4 GB ram which is half, but with out actually splitting the box. Would be possible with the option to run TCA on two different instances. Anyways, it was just a thought

Don't believe it is possible, but could be a neet feature for v2, more than one tca instance per machine which can be assigned a certain # of slots or something...

And allow the servers setup on both instances to be assigned a certain amount of affinities.

You can run more than one instance of TCA on an actual box. However there is no affinity settings that would allow you to break out the CPUS. And updating the software would be a chore.

oh, I wasn't planning on "actually" breaking up CPUs. I actually would just like to be able to have 2 clients on one box. There is a method to my madness, I know it sounds retarded, but I have a reason. And like the other guys mentioned limit the amount of slots the client could setup.

No way to do this with Verson1, and I doubt we would even look at it for version 2.
