External smtp server

Is there any way to configure TCAdmin to send emails via an external smtp server.

 

I dont want to run email servers on my gaming boxes. I have an external server I use for sending all of my emails. I have tried selecting the "Internal" option but it will never connect to my server.

 

The smtp server i want to use uses a port of 80 for sending mail not 25. Im guessing this is the problem, but theres no way to change the port TCAdmin uses to connect to the smtp server.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I never had any problems. Mine is external, I just select internal and put in the info. and it has always sent mail just fine

Yes, but i would say your is standard port which is 25.

 

My server is port 80 , seems like TCAdmin my be hardcoded to use port 25.

 

If so i just need to know a way of changing that.

It is hardcoded to port 25. You cannot change it.

I guess I wont be using emails from TCAdmin then...

 

This is a pretty big let down. There isnt a way to edit a file inside of TCAdmin to change the hardcoded port to 80?

 

Seems like if its coded in it can be coded to something else. Also you might want to change this in the next update or so, im sure im not the only person who wants to use a SMTP server on a different port other than 25.

Sounds like you should change your SMTP if its not using the standard.

There are plenty of reasons we dont want to use the standard port for our smtp servers. Kinda of out weighs having TCAdmin send emails.

 

Almost any web software ahs the ability to change this to the port you want to use, just not understanding why this one doesnt allow it. anyways doesnt really matter i guess just a suggestion.
