Question on a dedicated server

P4 3.0GHz HT/ AMD 64 3200+ - 2GB RAM - 2 X 250 GB SATA - 1200GB Bandwidth - 2 IP

 

How many (approximatly) CS:S slots would that be able to hold?

Hard to define how many slots, it's all dependant on what the tickrate of the servers you are looking to host are inclusive with slot count.

 

At 100 tick I would say around 50 - 80 slots.

You can not answer that question because there are a million variables that can affect it.

2 - 16 CS:S Public 100 tick 250 FPS servers

1 - 12 slot private 100 tick 250 FPS server

 

Maybe 1 or 2 more of a different game or CS:S

What kind of budget do you have? I would not looking into anything smaller then a Dual Core or its a waste of time and money.

No chance. That CPU is poor. You'd be lucky to get 1 good 16 Slot 100 Tickrate server out of it.

I agree with jon, id sell it on ebay and hope for a pay day, use money towards a new build.

Based on past experience with a similar machine, you will get around 50 100 tick CSS slots.

Actually 128.175.72.50:27015 is hosted on a old amd 4000+ with 1 gig of ram it runs Fine we used to have 50+ slots on it but the Fios package(Yeah its way cheaper) the host has cant handle it the Server box itself handles it Fine thought. You could probably get about 30 slots on that box
