markop10
Is it possible that inactive servers (inactive for 3-4 hours) will be automaticly turned off. I saw this on one game servers hosting company...
JasonF
By inactive, do you mean no players but still responding to queries?

Steven Crothers
So you can put more servers on it right?
JasonF
System will be more stable... more free RAM, better performanse But are these client servers are you trying to disable? If a client pays for a game server, they are going to expect it to be up every day all day.
KingJ
If I was a client I wouldn't want to have to log in and start my server everytime I want to play on it.
markop10
http://www.game-hosting.com Have panel that stop server after 2 hours... They are No 1 in Europe
KingJ
Q: Why does my server shut down after 1-2 hours when not being used? A: Your server will shut down/go to sleep when not being used. you then need to go to the server admin panel to start it again. the reason for this is that this way we can provide you with our best service posible and of course our easy change location instantly option. as seen in our FAQ questions here on the site you can get your friends to start your server so that you do not need to do it for them at all times. Highlighting is my only edit to this. What makes you say they are the number one in EU? I've never even heard of them before. I also find their "Why Choose Us" page quite entertaining
markop10
So can you help me or not... I don't want discuss about game server providers
Steven Crothers
I feel it would be unethical to help to be honest. So no, I will not be helping. I believe the rest of the people here will be following my lead. Also, they are not number 1 in the UK, those statistics you have are highly skewed. JasonF
This topic was covered a long time ago and I can't remember if it was possible with some secondary script or not but I can tell you TCAdmin will not do this. Just my opinion, but it does not make good business sense to disable client's servers if they are empty.
wondorae
No1 in Europe and they only host 12 games and turn your server off when you don’t play on it. They also can’t spell. This means that you can at anytime change you server to any of the mods LOL! This gives you actually more games within the same game-server And that’s just strange hahaha. maddanny
Only reason i can see to shutdowndown unused servers is to oversell ... TCAdmin doesnt have this feature (and i hope that there will be same on v2!), but you can do it with little scripting. But it's very bad idea I would like to see the server's graphs friday night, when all unused servers are powered :)
Johnny5_Hull
I too would like to add my opinion, and that is this shouldn't happen, and with 2 reasons/viewpoints. As a gsp, it is my duty to ensure that we as a company provides our customers with a server that runs from the second they pay, to the second it stops. If I didn't I would be dishing out compo. Most hosting companies, game or other offer SLA's which cover downtime, which essentially what this is. Viewpoint 2... As an (aging) long standing gamer myself, hence being in the business, It would rack me off if I had contributed to a server, and couldnt get on it as it was turned off, and we couldn't get hold of the admin to turn it on!! Also, I like playing on servers which have people on them.... how are they to get on if its turned off? I can see the benefit for match servers..... just, but even then, thats why there is a stop button in the TCA system, so clans who want it off, can turn it off. Just my opinions, of course. RackGaming
I agree, Even though we are in the same boat with loads of private servers 300meg each memory, even so I would not allow my company to abuse our clients and also it would go against our terms. This is why we just spent £1k for a server with 20GB memory to host all private servers only. Just do the math and get some cash, it will all work out, trust me!
