ECF
I removed the link as it is illegal to record phone conversations without the other party knowing. This is one of those legal things that I do not want us to be involved in since the person is obviously underage. Feel free to ask people to check out the forums and listen if you want to but don't post a direct link to the thread please. Thanks!
jcroom
was just a voicemail, not me actually recording the call, would that still clasify it as the same?
Todd Holley
These are archived voice mails, therefore the user knows he is being recorded. I don't fully understand if this would violate any laws / regulations. If anyone has more detailed information I will be more than happy to remove my posts about this topic on this forum, as well as removing the posts from the GSP forum. edit: Justin beat me to it. http://www.callcorder.com/phone-recording-law-america.htm It appears to be illegal in your state, but is legal in my state, Justins state, as well as the state the client(s) are in. VicToMeyeZR
Its only illegal if the party doesn't know they are being recorded. Since it is voice mail, the party knows it is being recorded. They agree to be recorded, by not hanging up. The question remains, is it ethical for him to post his "customers" voice mail? I don't think so, and a judge might actually rule in favor of the "customer" in a case that could be brought about, because the party has a standing agreement with said company, that ALL forms of communication between the company and the customer, is private. A voice recording left on the companies voice mail, is, in a sense private between the two parties, and the customer has a understanding of certain rights to that privacy. *hence the reason all companies put out privacy notices, when dealing with customers, and their personal information. Just my 2 cents.
jcroom
Just for the record, the first call was not from a customer, just some kid trying to rule the world . I have removed the second link because I agree with Victomeyezr.
ECF
Nothing against your posts, we simply do not want some legal BS coming back on us for having a link to a personal call or voice posted in our forums.
{-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
FYI, I don't blame you ECF, we know how layers are. But in some states like NC all you need is 1 of the parties to know they're being recorded it's legal.
