Question About the "stop" button

Any one know, when you press the "stop" button in your controle panel. Does it just kill the process or does it send a "shutdown call" to the processs?

Tcadmin Stops|Starts|Disables the service on the computer that is hosting the game server, In Server Services you can see each game server listed as a Service.

It kills the service which in turn stops the process.

Okay this still dosent really tell me what i need. When you close the service. How does it close the actually progam like hl2.exe? Does it kill, or send a close command?
